Care of the sofa. DIY Tips to take care of the upholstery
Habitually it is not dedicated to the sofa a constant cleaning as it is made with other elements of furniture, in spite of being one of the elements that more are used in the house. With use, it is common to absorb dirt and odors from the street, pets, etc., as well as to accumulate household dust and stains of their own use. The vast majority of sofas are upholstered with fabrics of synthetic fibers or mixtures of natural fabrics to ensure greater strength and durability of them. You must know the type of textile fabric that has been used for the upholstery of the sofa before applying any cleaning or maintenance technique. General care for sofa upholstery
To prevent discoloration of the upholstery, do not expose the sofa directly to sunlight. Depending on the type of textile, the sofa will be more or less sensitive to heat. Find a location away from radiators and heaters.
You should use the sofa with care, avoiding jumping or sitting abruptly to avoid damaging the structure, not distort the cushions, or damage the sliding mechanisms. You should avoid sitting on your arms, as they may not be designed to support heavy weights. Care of fabric upholstery

Other fabrics such as velvet similes should be kept away from any source of heat, so it is preferable to apply dry washes. Fabrics such as canvas are very resistant and withstand hot washing conditions at higher temperatures. For general cleaning, run a vacuum cleaner (with a soft brush) through your sofa once a week.
Care of the leather sofa upholstery
Keep the sofa away from heating, sun exposure and other sources of heat. At least about 60 cm. This will prevent the skin from modifying its natural color. For the general maintenance of your leather sofa, simply pass a dry cloth. In this way, we will remove dust easily. Approximately every 15 days it is recommended to remove the dust between cushions with a vacuum cleaner, using any nozzle or vacuum cleaner with extreme softness to avoid scratching or damaging the skin. We can also treat the skin by passing, without rubbing, a damp cloth with non-calcareous water or cotton cloth moistened with water and neutral soap, well drained. Afterward, it is necessary to treat the skin with special creams that allow it to be hydrated and protected so that it maintains the original touch, regains flexibility and does not appear prematurely cracks. This specific cream for skins and leathers will have to spread homogeneously with circular movements. Then, let it dry and polish it with another soft and clean cloth, eliminating the remains of the cream.
