Fashion: Everything You Need To Know For This 2019

What is the fashion for this 2019? We give a review of everything you need to know to succeed next season.

We have rescued the main trends of the season so you can add them to your wish list.

But, first of all …

Who decides the trends in fashion?

Who dictates the trends in fashion?

A priori we could think of a triangle composed of three vertices:

the catwalks
the “street style”
Instagram
But in reality, it’s you, me, we are all of us …

Gone are the days when creativity and the free will of designers dictated the trends. Today, companies like WGSN, are responsible for tracking the streets so that brands know (with anticipation of two years) what consumers want to take without taking unnecessary risks.

So I’m going to produce hundreds or thousands of pairs of white women’s shoes if the youngest and fashionistas (the early adopters ) of Tokyo or Los Angeles are wearing them yellow.

What fashion holds: the trends for this 2019

Some tendencies leave and others come.

But remember, a good look is not achieved by following the trends but with authenticity. As very well said the former American model and actress Lauren Hutton:

Fashion is what designers offer you four times a year. Style is what you choose
And to help you choose, we review what we liked most this 2018 on the catwalks and the “street style”.

The catwalks: the trends that we liked the most for this 2019

Time works differently in the world of fashion. While most of us are tucked into our cozy wool women ‘s sweaters and dusting our velvet booties, designers have already thought about the summer/spring of 2019.

From synthetic leather to sequins, cycling shorts to leopard prints, these are the trends that we liked the most in the collections of New York, London, Milan, and Paris for the winter and spring of 2019.

Cowboy style

This season, and by the hand of Isabel Marant, Margot Hemingway, Lorenzo Serafini and Alberta Ferretti, fashion has been inspired by the Wild West.synthetic skin

With good causes, charitable projects and a desire to protect the planet, fashion is turning green. The last assault? A commitment to synthetic leather, championed by Stella McCartney and followed by Gucci, Givenchy, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, and Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini. A declaration of intentions!

Fringes

A recurring theme in Valentino, Alexander McQueen, and Givenchy, the fringes gave the catwalks a poetic touch. A detail that made the difference and added an air of sophistication and glamor.

Layers

Simple and elegant par excellence, the cape is an essential complement for any woman, and this year, the cape has resurfaced from its ashes, like Ave Fénix. Now you can put a layer in your life!

The Sixties

This year, the sixties made themselves felt on the catwalks, while the models moved with new freedom and the designs were inspired by the revolutionary decade. Whether Dior, Miu Miu or APC, mini dresses, skirts and capes, they embraced the rebellious spirit of the sixties.

Sequins

The sequins illuminated the catwalks of fashion week. But the mini dresses ran out: instead, sparkling and long pieces dominated the track, from the monkeys of the 80s to a dress of the Victorian era. Now you can prepare your sequined dress because this spring/summer is going to be a party!

Sheepskin

With its soft tones of sand, sheepskin has been seen in numerous oddities in women’s coats this year on the catwalks. I hope it’s the last one. Louis Vuitton was betting on a cowboy version, Dior was winking at the sixties with his stuffed coat and Tod’s was leaning toward patchwork.

Hippie

A kaleidoscopic mosaic of patterns and textures juxtaposed or sewn in patchwork, to delight the nomads of the 21st century. Now you can take out your hippie and bohemian side!

Pajama dresses

With a sensual masculinity and an elegance of dressing table, pajamas reminiscent of jackets and nightgowns that evoke dresses, once again demonstrated that sleepwear is not limited only to be in bed.

lowing dresses

On the first day of Paris Fashion Week, Jacquemus presented a show inspired by the Moroccan souks, which contrasted sensuality with a more informal feel. Natasha Ramsay – Levi changed Chloé’s usual boho style for a more wild and enigmatic style, while Pier Paolo Piccioli kept the characteristic Valentino elegance with very feminine pieces. A very romantic, evanescent and supremely poetic winter season is foreseen.

Leopard print

The leopard coats with the characteristic feline print of Diana Vreeland have continued to make their way this year, dominating the collections of Victoria Beckham, Gareth Pugh, and Dolce & Gabbana.

Knitwear

One of the hottest trends of this season combines elegance with comfort to achieve appropriate winter looks for the coldest days: think of warm and feminine knit dresses and large pieces with thick necklines like scarves.

Yellow

Pastel pink and lavender had their moment. By the spring of 2019, the focus will be on yellow. This cheerful and stimulating color appeared on all the runways of New York Fashion Week. Yellow made its way into the fantasy dresses of Rodarte and the elegant raincoats of Escada. Tibi’s yellow trouser suit set was a breath of fresh air as opposed to all the navy blue and burgundy outfits we had seen in previous seasons. The spring of 2019 already looks brilliant!

Blazers with shorts

For this spring, designers have renewed their sets of blazers and trouser suits with matching women’s shorts. The new clothing can be combined in various ways as far as footwear is concerned. Matthew Adams Dolan accompanied the two pieces of his mint green set with black shoes, while Maryam Nassir Zadeh opted for sandals with laces. I warn you: this will be the spring/summer uniform of all fashionistas. Elegant, comfortable and with a lot of attitudes!

White dresses

The search for the perfect white dress for next summer will be much easier this next year. Many were the proposals and no dress was similar to the previous one since all differed in the fabrics (some designers used lace, while others opted for pure cotton material). Some were designed with sleeves, others with details of ruffles. It will be difficult to choose which is our favorite dress once these pieces are available in stores.

Shirtless dresses

The designers have unanimously agreed that a shirt, yes or yes, should be in the closet of all women next season. This simple garment came in a large variety and amalgam of patterns and colors, from the striped dress of Tory Burch to the white with bright shades of Sies Marjan. And is that the shirt dress, will be your new outfit for next year, so keep your eyes wide open to find the perfect one. You can combine it with sandals, espadrilles, or even with colorful “ugly” shoes.
